Tested at last! :( :( :? :( :x :( :x
Finally -*test*-('")ed my roll cage - and it worked!
Unfortunately being completely upside down in 18 inches of water has not done much good to the interior....... Oh or the engine really - especially when it run away on sump oil (once righted and dried out) and I couldnt get it into gear to stall it - 30,000 rpm and 200 tdi don't mix.
I am hoping it is just the turbo that I have blown and not rings as well - anyone got a compression -*test*-('")er from a 200 tdi?
So once I have changed the engine, replaced the windows, hamered out the rear roof and side panels and wings and door and hose out the interior and got the 'lectrics working again....and get round to changing the A-frame ball joint that had gone the last time I came out to RTV.....come to think of it I had the spare, whilst it was the wrong way up .....
Andy - if you need help setting a trial and you need me in my truck - better set a date later in the year eh! - should have gone home when you did!
Also it's all on video - whey! - I'll put in a link on " Why not to get carried away when you have very little driving skill" when I get it.
Boo Hoo!

Sorry about your land rover, I hope your alright, I know what it's like to roll in a light weight at Methringham quarry. I had a ride in a air ambulance. Not the best way to experiance a helicopter ride. Hope to see you at more land rover events.
Best of luck

i would but some fool put a bloody great big roll cage in the way so if anyone has an idea of fitting it without altering the cage then im all ears  besides winters fading now roll (not literatly) on the good weather then hey presto NO roof 8)
Jasper- 01-05-2007
Yeah I thought about a truck cab, but as you say the roll cage is really the wrong type.
I then thought about a custom 3/4 truck cab or extended truck cab, but I am not sure if that is allwed in ARC rules of maintaining the vehicle silohette (if that is how the wordlings are spelded?)
Any ideas?
I have the video (1mb or 4 mb versions) for anyone who wants it emailed to them - more funny than impressive (or embarrasing even!)
I think Nick is posting it to the KORC website and I will see if I can set up a myspace or something.
